Experiences of a Lifetime

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
I was honored to work with the Saudi Railway Company in Riyadh. The personnel were extremely professional, hardworking, and gracious. I met some fantastic people and formed some wonderful friendships. I have a greater appreciation for sand risks and mitigation. I was able to travel to vibrant cities such as Buraydah, Dammam, Hail, Khobar, Majma, and Qassim. The Kapsa and Shawarma was incredible!

China
I had the pleasure of working with peers at Guanzho Metro, which is one of China's busiest operations. The executive team was great to work with and the employees were very welcoming. We shared smart practices and lessons learned. I was also able to explore the city, experience the Sky Drop on top of Canton Tower, and enjoy the food. Best Dim Sum ever...!

Afghanistan
I was fortunate enough to serve as the Senior Railway Advisor to the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. I enjoyed learning about the culture of Afghanistan and visiting brilliant cities such as Mazar-e Sharif. The Afghan bread was delicious. I worked directly with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to establish the Afghanistan Railway Authority and develop a National Railway Plan along with a Railway Act to include associated policies, regulations, rules, and standards. The Afghan team demonstrated exceptional commitment!
Future Travel Plans

Japan
I am looking forward to experiencing the Japanese culture and architecture. I am eager to ride the Shinkansen train, visit some amazing cities such as Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka, and indulge in the local cuisine (Sushi, Ramen, Udon, and Tempura etc...). More to follow...kanpai!
